so last night was my first (and unfortunately ONLY) dmb show of the summer.. *le sigh* sucks, but at least it was an AMAZING show..
i mean i got a ton of firsts (for me) and nothing but 12.21.2002 could top tonight.. heres the setlist: Saturday Sep 6 2003 Tweeter Center Stay Crush The Stone Don’t Drink the Water If I Had It All Help Myself Satellite Bartender Fool To Think Dancing Nancies Where Are You Going Watchtower Spoon Ants Marching __________________ The Maker Tripping Billies first of all, four BTCS songs in a row. shannon and i were *hoping* for a btcs night.. maybe the freakish event of the whole show being from the album (sans halloween, since it KILLS daves voice).. i mean, my first stay, without the "lovely ladies". carter and butch sound so cute when they do the chorus. its a VERY nice sight to see this song back into rotation. crush - a kinda of a downer for me, since daniel wasnt there to hold me during it. but, it was enjoyed none the less (since its up there as being one of my all time faves). and it was well over 10 minutes in length.. boyd, was on fire and it was only the begining of the night. the stone - a HUGE favorite (thought i ALWAYS think its going to be DIDO.. and it never is, lol).. sounded amazing and just wow.. ddtw - another fave track (though only within the last year or so).. just gets more amazing eeach and every time i hear it.. if i had it all shows up - a crowd bummer (but becoming endearing to the diehards, like moi) but good none the less. we just sat down. no potty/beer breaks for us.. help myself - another first, but this time, a first EVER hearing it live.. i would love to hear it with just boyd and dave or dave n timmy.. but it sounded great none the less. satellite - can never ever get tired of it bvartender - didnt get to hear much of it, trying to find barry who was sitting 6 rows ahead of us (same section) but had extra room for shan and i and let us hop up to him fool to think - holds a special a place in my heart, gets better each time i hear it. i mean, there are alot of everyday songs that just SUCK, but this isnt one of them. NANCIES - omg.. my first one EVER... god damn after the teasing i got on 7.26.2002, wow.. im just still in awe... gotta love it where are you going? - we found shannon, ironically, right before this song...always a great one to hear.. watchtower (sublime intro) - amazing, just fucking amazing SPOON - omfg... omfg.. im still in fucking awe of everything that happened.. the ONLY song ive ever wanted to hear live and i got it... omg.. can i die now?? so wonderful, so beautiful.. shannon was afraid i was going to have a panic attack or faint from being so excited... i just cant believe i actually HEARD spoon.. damn i think i can stop going to shows.. what.. naaaah ill NEBER stop seeing dmb :) ants - great crowd, great performance.. dave actually stepped away from the mic to let us sing most of it.. just wow...and he was SCATTING.. ahhhh dave... ---------------------- the maker - my last first of the night.. such a pretty song.. it was weird to see most of the crowd sit this one out.. its just so gorgeous billies - decent closer, was kinda hoping for BOWA, but i can settle on this one.. next year dave, you owe me :P over all an amazing show.. we almost got backstage, but shit happened and what not.. though a good thing happened from hanging around, ms kerri leigh got a set list.. yes.. her very first dmb one EVER. weeeeeeee i am soo fucking excited about that one. im going to frame the setlist and the ticket stub and hopefully daniel will let me hang it on the wall.. its just ahhh
