okay, so im going to bitch. my manager, michelle, makes about $33,000 a year for managing a high end sunglass hut. apparently, managers after theyve hit 40 hours for the week, do not make time and a half. which is understandable, since shes partially salaried. she, instead, makes 20 minutes off every hour after 40 she works.. basically, if she works 3 hours, she only gets paid for 1 of them. which, yes, does suck, but she makes 3x as much as i do. she says i should work more hours since i actually get overtime. i feel i shouldnt since i make waaaaaaaaaay less then she does, and im not even full time yet (i was supposed to be this week, but the DM decided not to visit my store to do the interview and paperwork. which, in my opinion is fucking bullshit!). shes the manager, shes SUPPOSED to be working more hours then me. and shes not supposed to discuss HER pay with me. i could give two shits whether or not she gets overtime or not, she has responsibilites that SHES supposed to take care of, and not leave it up to me. i would be fine with all of this if i was making $11 an hour (my rate when i hit over 40), but im not. im still considered a part timer. why should i take on all the responsiblites of HER job and mine, if im not even being properly compensated? ill be honest, i am looking for a new job (my mom is re-writing my resume, since i suck at creating one), but until i find one, im stuck in luxotica hell.
